The Lie of the Land, Houghton Hall

The Lie of the Land, takes place at Houghton Hall in north Norfolk and is inspired by, and responds to, the extraordinary work of Antony Gormley's major solo exhibition Time Horizon.

With music created by Jonathan Baker, Sian Croose and Orlando Gough, the performance will be set among 100 life-size sculptures distributed across the park. It will feature our open access choir together with Voice Project soloists, Jeremy Avis, Lisa Cassidy, Sharon Durant, Jonathan Baker and Sian Croose and instrumentalist Adrian Lever. This is a promenade performance that will last around one hour and involves walking approximately one mile, with stops at intervals to watch performances. Please see the information below regarding accessibility.

Accessibility Information

The Lie of the Land is an outdoor promenade performance. The route is approximately a mile in length with 8 performance locations where the audience will stop and watch performances.

Half of the route is on gravel or stone pathways, with the other half  including lawn and slightly rougher ground/woodland.

We will have some shooting sticks available and a limited number of ushers who can help supporting audience members with mobility needs. Please contact us in advance if you would like either of these and we will do our best to help.

If you are a wheelchair user you may need support for some of the show. A free ticket is available for an accompanying guest if you need this.
