About this course
We are very pleased to be welcoming Ellen Fisher back to Norwich. A brilliant artist and facilitator, her workshops combine dance, music and voice that encourage the body to sing and the voice to dance. Fisher uses techniques that tap into intuitive rhythmic dance and invites us into a movement vocabulary that considers phrasing, gestural narratives and image. Her long working relationship with Meredith Monk has enabled her to hone these techniques and exercises through performing and team teaching. 2-day workshop Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October 2025 - £100 or book either Friday or Saturday as a single day - £65 at The Friends Meeting House, Upper Goat Lane, Norwich This workshop is designed for participants with some experience of working with either or both voice and movement If you would like to discuss whether this workshop is for you, contact us on info@project.co.uk A limited number of 'pay what you can' bursaries are available. Ellen Fisher is an interdisciplinary movement artist that performs internationally. She has had teaching appointments throughout Europe and the US. At present she is performing and teaching with the Meredith Monk vocal ensemble. Fisher’s performance work is informed by ethnographic research in trance dance and rituals of South Asia, particularly Sri Lanka, where she was a Fulbright Scholar. Fisher continues to teach and collaborate with artists on community intergenerational and intercultural projects, both domestically and internationally. Ellen will be assisted by Sian Croose, Co-Director of The Voice Project.
